LOCATIONS

LOCATIONS

Larger version: Cirque de l’Ardeur

Beer Garden

What's better than a garden of roses? A garden of beer and roses! There's plenty of tables to sit down, chat, and be merry with drink, which consists 95% of beer on tap. The selection is pretty varied, with your IPA's, lagers, and even multiple flavors of fruit and dessert beer. The other 5% of the menu is standard red and white wine, and a small selection of champagne.

One of the tables is piled high with various board games, some of which you might recognize like monopoly, chess, backgammon, and some you might not.

Circus Centre

Nestled in the middle of all the tents is a large bonfire, crackling no matter the time of the day. Strangely this fire gives off no heat until sunset and won't burn those who touch it, though it does make them feel oddly sleepy after. A worn and weathered clock hangs above the fire, chained to posts on each side.

Mess Tent

Among one of the larger tents, at least in length if not in width. Food appears exactly at 6am, noon and 6pm sharp every day(whenever you want it) for any who choose to sit down, with a fifteen minute grace period for any late stragglers. The menu seems to rotate various comfort foods at random, though there's always some type of cake for dessert. Behind the tent is an open area with a grill, portable stove, pantry, and some gas canisters, along with cargo boxes holding all kinds of non-perishable food. Sometimes you might even find a box of produce.

Field

A large lush green field on the outskirts with a small pond, a see-saw, and all the equipment you need to play crochet and horseshoes. On the horizon, a small group of white and red tents is visible, but no matter how far you walk towards them, they never seem to get any closer.

The clouds always seem to resemble various shapes that are familiar to you. Gazing up at them for too long will cause reflections to appear in the pond of a memory associated with that shape that anyone can see.

Cloudwatching more than once a day will result in them turning dark and stormy, taking on the shape of unpleasant objects or people from the past. If done in the vicinity of the pond, reflections of those memories will be visible on the water's surface. Eventually the clouds become white and fluffy again.

Main Tent

The biggest tent in the entire circus, complete with ample seating and a ring in the middle for all types of performances. Each performer's poster hangs on the wall, illuminated by a bright spotlight. A large sigil of fire is inscribed in the middle of the ring. The seats and bleachers along the edges of the tent always feel warm, like there's a lot of people nearby.

High above the stands is a simple red platform, suspended in the air by…nothing. Odd.

Ringmaster's Tent

Red and white stripes set this tent apart from all the rest, with a curtain of beads acting as a makeshift door of sorts. If you attempt to visit when the Ringmaster isn't in, the curtain will refuse you entry, bouncing you away harmlessly.

Private Tents

Have you ever been glamping? Now's your chance! Each private tent has a full size King bed, table and chairs, wardrobe, chest, electricity, and its own individual en-suite bathroom with shower and tub. In each bathroom is a plain wicker basket that magically cleans any clothes you put into it for the next day. The bed has the perfect softness or hardness to your taste and the wardrobe is full of outfits you have at home plus one brightly colored clown outfit. Each chest contains items necessary for a hobby of yours, minus anything explicitly lethal (that means no weapons)!

Every tent has a signpost outside it with its occupant’s name. Tent assignments can be found here.

Training Tent

This tent contains anything you may need to train your circus skills, from fire-eating, knife juggling, sword eating and then some. While there are prop swords and knives, the real variety is stored right alongside, along with anything and everything you need to light a fire. There's also the odd item used for magic tricks like an airtight box big enough to fit a person, handcuffs, and a bed of nails.

Ice Top

Stepping into this tent will transport you to a winter wonderland, or at least a winter playground. The air inside here is chilly, cold emanating from the walls of the ice maze that takes up the majority of the tent. In the middle of the maze is a garden decorated with roses carved from ice, alongside several pedestals that hold square blocks of ice. A single bench and a wooden chest in the corner rounds out the area, with the chest containing all the tools you need to sculpt your own creations.

To the side of the maze is a small area filled with fluffy powdery snow at the perfect consistency for making a snowball..

Double A Tent

A tent with trapezes, a safety net, leotards, and long sticks. For some reason to the side there's a rack full of whips, chairs, and a singular giant rubber ball. In the back, almost hidden, is a colorful clown car upgraded version of a clown car.

There's a number of cages as well, meant to move and house animals in varying shapes and sizes. On the top of each cage are plaques meant for someone to write on them. If you write the name of an animal (or doodle it, if writing it isn't an option), ten minutes later one will appear inside the cage. Unfortunately(?) the animals vanish by sunrise the next day, although you can still try to take them outside the tent if you wish -- if you can get them to listen, anyway. Only animals that appear on Earth will be summoned; any attempts at writing in names of (or drawing) fantastic creatures will result in the nearest Earth equivalent. A Komodo dragon is close enough, right?

Gift Shop

Filled to the brim with baubles containing the Cirque's name. From clothing, to merchandise, to stationery, and for some reason, snowglobes showing the tent and places. If you look around hard enough, you'll find objects that remind you of cherished mementos or of things you want to acquire, but when you try to take a better look you find yourself staring at a snowglobe.

Wardrobe Tent

Any and every kind of costume can be found in this tent. You won't find much in the way of regular clothing as everything is some degree of showy, but you'll find everything you need to dress up like it's Halloween. There's also makeup and beauty products, in case you really want to complete your look.

Game Stands

This section of the circus is packed with various carnival games which can be played for prizes. There’s everything from balloon pop, beanbag toss, high striker, skeeball and more. Though the stands are unmanned, the games operate on their own, restocking with whatever you need to keep playing. Winning plays are rewarded with various plushies, all of which resemble a person or object important to you. Or of an enemy you want to crush, that works too.

Med Tent

A tent with your standard first-aid supplies and a single bed. The supplies here aren't terribly modern, but everything is clearly labeled with directions and potential side effects. There's also a giant jar of rainbow lollipops which have a powerful analgesic effect, though they make you feel a bit giddy too.

Sky Top

Who says flying is only for the birds? The floors of this tent appear to consist entirely of clouds, and the ceiling of the tent is impossibly high compared to the outside. Various signage through the tent reads "Leap for the sky!" "The stars are the limit!" and so on. Jumping in this tent will lead to the discovery that the clouds are a trampoline of sorts, enabling you to leap high and land safely without fear.

A lone bright red sign says: WARNING, excessive heat may cause rain. Bringing open flame into this tent for a prolonged period will turn the normally fluffy clouds into rain clouds, which will not only get you drenched, but also don't cushion nearly as well.
